3. Clean your coffee pot with a little vinegar
Even those of us who use our coffee makers every day probably don’t clean them as much as we should. Unfortunately, research published in Scientific Reports suggests that our coffee makers are a real source of bacterial activity and that we may ingest some of these disgusting things in addition to our black roast.
So how do you fight all these bacteria? A monthly rinse with vinegar should be sufficient. Simply fill the tank of your coffee maker with a few tablespoons of white vinegar mixed with water, run it, and run it again with water only to eliminate any lingering vinegar odor. Of course, not only the surfaces of your appliances need serious cleaning: That’s why you need to change your pillow immediately!
4. Keep your washer fresh with bleach
While many of us think our washing machines are self-cleaning, this is far from being the case. One study suggests that 60% of all washing machines tested contained harmful bacteria, including E. coli. Fortunately, you can easily throw bacteria into your washer by running it with a combination of hot water and a liter of bleach and choosing disinfection. Goodbye, smelly clothes! And for other useful tips, here are 30 great tips to make your life easier.
